This large plastic turtle served multiple purposes: toy box,
bath tub or indoor pool...Outside it served as a sandbox.
Cleaning with soap & water and wiping out with a
disinfectant kept it usable year round!
The bear's sweater is personalized
with Dana's name.  (A special gift
from her Aunt Nelwyn.)
Dana wasn't
feeling well,
but she was in
the company of
three favorite
dolls and
covered with
two beautiful
hand stitched
quilts made by
her Grandma
Miles.
Dana loved her new room. The soft pastel colors captured the essence of
her personality.  I made the fluffy white comforter with pink and white
gingham borders.  I used left over fabric to make a matching set for the
doll cradle beside her bed. When the make-over was complete, Dana
climbed on top of the bed and "applauded"...(Chapter 12)
Your child's room
should be a reprieve
from the cold
clinical settings
that most special
needs children
encounter. As much
as possible, use
normal
child-friendly
furnishings and
decorate with love!
A messy room
meant a great day
for Dana!   I was
delighted on this
day to see that
she had
surrounded
herself with toys!
